There’ll also be new products on display, discounts on health and fitness programmes plus wellness seminars conducted by various experts and salon demonstrations going on throughout the show such as hairstyling and nail art.
One of the key sponsors for the event is Fitness First which will be conducting live fitness demos on stage over the three days with opportunities to take part and grab special offers on gym memberships and free trials.
There’ll also be dance displays and a specially created area offering advice on relaxation techniques – the first step to a healthier you.
6th Annual Food & Hospitality Expo Running alongside the health expo is the island’s main event for the hotel and restaurant industry where, again, there’s the chance to meet the back of house people, those you won’t normally see when you visit your favourite venues, as well as some of the suppliers and independent producers who keep the island’s food and beverages flowing.
Exhibiting companies this year include Sheraton Hotel, Crowne Plaza Bahrain, Radisson Blu Hotel, Motor City, Fine Foods, Kumar’s Kitchen, Bees Kingdom, Cater World, Trafco Group, Mohammed Jalal, Hotel and Restaurant Supplies, Culina Cooking Art, Al Amin Gardens, Rockweed International, Al Jazira, Karak and Chapati Express, Frutto Gelato, Al Moayed, Bahrain Gas, Bahrain Fresh Fruits, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Hani Hotel, Bahrain Airport Services, Gulf Hotel, Think Healthy, Zoya, Babasons, Atlas and Blue Band, among others.
One of the new exhibitors we’re particularly excited about is Culina Art, which has opened the kingdom’s first culinary school offering professional cookery lessons which can be the first step to a career in the hotel or restaurant business.
There’ll be tasting sessions galore and one of the highlights of the event will be the chance to see local chefs cooking live demonstrating how they prepare the dishes we all love from 2pm-5pm on the first day. Make sure you grab a free ice cream from Stick House during each of the demos.
Returning this year will be a cook off between the chefs of some of the island’s best hotels judged by experts in the field.
As well as show stands highlighting the industry’s latest products and technologies, there’ll also be free seminars as part of a conference, running alongside the exhibition, concentrating on food safety and wellness at work.
The first day will see a number of, still to be confirmed, pre-conference workshops and days two and three will feature keynote speakers followed by presentations, panel discussions, filming sessions and workshops, which will run from 3pm-6pm each day.
The keynote speakers are Richard Sprenger, Dr Lisa Ackerley and Muhammad Ihsanullah. Sprenger is a leading food safety expert who will present on UK food standards of safety and Dr Ackerley, specialist food safety advisor to the UK’s Royal Society of Public Health will present on monitoring food safety.
Other speakers will include Khalid Sharif talking about the Dubai government’s experience in food safety, Ali Saleh on diet misconceptions and a guest speaker from the US Embassy. Both shows are free to enter and run daily 10am-7pm.
Al Hawaj Clearance Sale Always eagerly awaited, these big bargain fests offer perfumes, accessories, electronic goods and more at huge savings. But be warned, the traffic is always a bit of a nightmare so make sure you go early or park well away and walk in.

Find out how to do your bit for the planet with the latest technologies and energy saving ideas.

Best Bahraini Chef
The competition will run from 2pm-5pm on the second and third days of the exhibition with three Bahraini chefs competing on each day. Day two of the exhibition will be pastry cooking with chefs from local patisseries. Day three will be general cookery with chefs from three of the island’s top hotels. The competition will take place in the central area of the exhibition hall so everyone will have a great view and the chefs will be preparing and talking through dishes selected by Chef Alain Michel of Culina Art.
