Race Fever This ongoing nation-wide celebration of motorsport has featured four main events and is coming to a very exciting conclusion with two live performances from British pop band The Vamps and the talented Swedish DJ Otto Knows on April 11.
On April 2, as well, the Red Bull X Fighter Jam extreme motorbike show is taking place at Amwaj Islands with plenty of daredevils performing some seriously extreme feats. These events are only open to F1 ticketholders.
F1 Village Throughout the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, the Formula 1 Village vending area is hosting non-stop family-friendly entertainment. One of the main attractions of this is the Snow Village, a fun experience in snowy conditions featuring a synthetic ice rink, a snow garden, a cross country skiing area, climbing wall and freestyle slide.
The Ice Queen ice rink show is set to take place, alongside roaming acts such as The Penguins and Pop the Balloon Man, as well as a green screen experience. On top of all that there will be carnival games, miniature rides and bouncy castles for the kids, as well as extreme rides, live stage shows and an F1 Game Zone.
Live performances Live stage shows by regional and international celebrities have been planned for F1 ticketholders including a line-up of Arabic concerts by Kuwaiti singer Abdulla Rowaishid, Lebanese recording artists Najwa Karam and Amr Zayan, and Iraqi singer-composer Waleed Al Shami on April 17.
The big one that everybody is waiting for, however, is to be held on April 18 and this year the Bahrain International Circuit has chosen Pitbull to be their main act. The American rapper, born Armando Christian Perez, is globally successful as a musician, performer, entrepreneur and actor whose sales have topped five million albums and 60 million singles worldwide. He’s collaborated with renowned artists such as J-Lo, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, Akon, Sean Paul and many more, and had number one hits in more than 15 countries. You might know him for his chart-topping hits ‘Feel This Moment’, ‘Don’t Stop The Party’ and ‘Timber’ – to name a few.
He even performed at the opening ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Sao Paolo, Brazil and this year he’s getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman commented on how excited the team are to have signed the American rapper for this year’s F1. ‘Pitbull is a global superstar whose popularity has skyrocketed over the past few years,’ he said. ‘We all know his songs and we all know how unbelievable his live productions are. He can really put on a great show.’
