Time Out meets the organisers behing Bahrain's Italian festival
Time Out Bahrain staff
How long have you been in Bahrain? I arrived in September 2008.
Is there a large Italian community here? We don’t have a very large community, but we have a very lively one.
Why an Italian festival in Bahrain? Culture is a way of establishing bridges. Historically, Italy has absorbed a lot of culture from the Arab countries. You can find it in architecture, music and art, so we want to continue a dialogue that has gone on for centuries. If you look at Bahrain, the image of Italy is football, Ferrari and fashion, but this is only part of what Italy stands for.
