How many more Irish pubs will it take before hotels in the Gulf finally catch on and change their source of inspiration? Fiddlers is yet another watering hole adorned with a seemingly endless supply of ‘authentic’ tat, surely put in place to make the Irish residents of Bahrain feel at home. It merely looks cheap and nasty, however, and only serves to detract from what is actually a decent pub.
Dark and generic, you can get a decent pint of Guinness, while the tendency of its clientele to sit and mope at the bar means you’re unlikely to be bothered if you want a quiet drink. Football is shown on the big screens, so in lieu of anywhere else to sit and watch the latest Premiership League, it makes for a fairly inoffensive place to spend an evening.
