Tucked away at the back of the Novotel Al Dana lurks Le Bellevue. You have to climb the stairs through one of the hotel’s restaurants to reach the bar, which can mean some unfortunate smells as you ascend, but once you reach the top, you can sit at the sweeping bar, crowd around the tables near the live musician, or grab a comfy chair with views out over the water. The drinks menu is comprehensive; choose from a great range of beers, spirits, wines and cocktails, all brought to your table.
The further you can sit away from the musicians the better, as you’ll be spared the brutal massacre of several of your favourite songs. However murderous cover songs aside, Le Bellevue is a decent bar where you can sit in (relative) peace and quiet and mull over the day. The Novotel isn’t close to many other places in Bahrain, so chances are you’ll be here for most of the evening. That said, if you can get a chair with a view, order a drink, and the twinkling lights of Manama will hold your attention for hours.
