Typhoon
We spend an evening at swanky Gulf Hotel bar 1 Reviews

Downstairs from the Royal Thai at the Gulf Hotel, this bar benefits from some of the island’s swankiest bar food – we recommend trying the Vietnamese chicken, seriously yummy and the portions are really generous.
The atmosphere’s relaxed with staff who are attentive but at the same time unobtrusive.
During the hotter months it’s nice to sit inside, where the décor’s contemporary and welcoming, and listen to the live band, But Typhoon will really come into its own now as the weather cools.
The outside terrace is bordered by a running fish stream with lots of brightly coloured koi that make for a really relaxing atmosphere – there’s just something about fish and we’re clearly not the only ones who think so, the terrace is always busy and everyone comments on the pond life.
You’re also surrounded by the hotel’s extensive gardens so this outside space gives a real feeling of being in some tropical paradise rather than down-town Adliya.
The drinks menu’s not the cheapest you will find but this is a premium venue so it’s about what we would expect and the choice of mixes is extensive.
You’re also close to the Gulf Hotel’s impressive number of dining outlets so this is the ideal spot for after work sundowners or an early evening pre-dinner drink.
