Latino-themed watering hole with music and cocktails Reviews

LQ, or Latin Quarter to be precise, is the latest arrival on the Bahrain nightlife scene. But this bar is little bit better than the rest. The long bar in this Latino-themed drinking den is superbly stocked, although the emphasis is on gin-based cocktails. Don’t pass up the fruit-flavoured mojitos – melon, passion fruit, strawberry and raspberry are all present and correct, although being in Bahrain and all you really can’t leave without knocking back a bullfrog.

When hunger pangs kick in, there are some unusual bar snacks on offer – green banana chips with chilli and lime, tiger prawns, or perhaps you’d prefer pineapple caramelised with ginger and served with a touch of pina colada. Not yet ready to call it a night? No worries – order another drink, sink into a well-upholstered chair and watch the Latino band sing and strut their funky stuff on the small stage. LQ proves that Bahrain’s bar scene has potential – someone has done their homework here and it shows.

My wife and I went just to have a night out, but WOW, what a time we had. The band was lively, upbeat and played some of the best Latin music we have heard in ages. We danced all night and while there, found out that they offer Salsa dance lessons on Wendsday's at 8 P.M.. We are so there. The drink prices are a little high, but what bar isn't in Bahrain. They carry some food items we haven't seen in Bahrain such as Jambalaya and Calzones. If you like to dance, this is the place to be. FUN, FUN, FUN
