The promise Anti-aging facial with Biodroga MD products from Germany. Highly efficient interaction, biotech components and natural ingredients using a derma membrane complex, a skin-related carrier system which directly delivers the high-quality ingredients to the skin for optimal efficiency.
Special peptides support the natural activity and renewal of skin cells and natural stimulants, such as micro-algae extract, activate the skin’s collagen synthesis. Purely plant-based conditioning substances counteract hormone-induced aging processes of the skin and improve its cell metabolism resulting in an increase in skin density and improved elasticity.
Step by step Tharapist Laila led me upstairs to the blue treatment room where I settled comfortably for an extremely thorough facial cleansing. First off she gently wiped my skin with moistened cotton wool to dampen the area then a non-greasy cleansing oil was spread over my face and chest and rubbed in. Next Laila applied a facial scrub containing alpha hydroxy acid which is another form of deep cleansing and anti-aging. It sort of stung a bit, I say sort of, because it was more like an intense desire to scratch rather than actual pain.
This can apparently be used as a face mask and left on for 15 minutes but I think the urge to itch would’ve driven me nuts. The scrub is accompanied by steam followed, after a few minutes, by an electronic brush, which feels a bit like a mild form of microdermabrasion, and then, for even more deep cleaning, a vacuum. Yes that’s right, my face was actually Hoovered.
Now, more thoroughly cleansed than at any time in living memory, I was ready for a bit of facial massage with the repair formula day care cream which aims to ‘de-stress’ the skin, giving it energy, increasing resilience and smoothing appearance.
This bit of the treatment felt lovely, the product is obviously very rich as, though my face is quite sensitive, I felt no pulling at all as Laila thoroughly massaged the cream deep into my skin.
Next up came a liberal application of radiance boost gel which uses vitamin E and hyaluronic acid for yet more cleaning.
And then onto the main event, a sheet of concentrated collagen is placed over the entire face with holes cut for the nose and mouth. It’s soaked in water and left to set on the skin for around 15 minutes allowing the collagen to be absorbed after which the treatment concludes with a layer of anti-aging collagen-boost day care moisturiser.
The results I have to admit that I was shocked at how much better my skin felt after just one hour. I’m a smoker and I don’t drink enough water so I was definitely looking a bit dehydrated and this treatment resulted in an immediate plumping effect with a bit of added radiance for good measure. Laila recommends weekly treatments for the first little while to get the full effect and, for once, I’m actually rather tempted.
The pros It’s not hugely expensive and it actually seems to work, despite my initial skepticism. The surroundings are also gorgeous.
The cons As I mentioned, the scrub did sting a bit but it certainly wasn’t unbearable. Parking’s also a bit of a pain. To be fair the centre does have it’s own parking but getting in and out is the challenge. Collagen pads mask treatment BD30 or BD120 for five sessions. La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art.
