We put a Bahrain-made health product to the Time Out beauty test
I can’t count the number of body creams that I’ve thrown away, past their sell-by date but barely used. Moisturising the vast surface area that is the body is just a time-consuming beauty ritual too far. So the idea of a moisturising routine that could be combined with showering held more than a little appeal. Made in Bahrain by a certified natural perfumer, using only natural ingredients, Green Bar body oils are designed for application in the shower to wet, cleansed skin, after which you towel-dry off excess to be left with a ‘moisturised-without-being-oily’ epidermis (such is the promise on the packaging).
Although, admittedly, I still sometimes forget to use it, having the pump dispenser of sweet almond and frangipani oil staring at me in the shower definitely makes body moisturising a more regular occurrence, and after several weeks’ use I can confirm that it does what it says on the organic-looking tinted brown glass bottle. Also worth noting, the addition of natural flower essence to the plant-oil base makes humdrum bathing feel less routine, and a little more like pampering. The range includes several treatment oils, including a deliciously fragranced, nourishing rice bran face elixir with geranium and lavender. Body oils (also in apricot and grapefruit and sweet almond and amber) from BD12 (8oz); rice bran face elixir, BD6 (10ml); visit www.greenbarinc.com
