In fact one of his back legs had been sheered at the knee joint, the bones were visible and the poor lad’s paw was facing the wrong way!
Gill called Tony the Dogfather and one of his volunteers was able to help get Oliver, so named for his twisted leg, to the vet.
He’s since undergone an operation to remove the shattered limb but x-rays showed he also had some damage to his pelvis so he’s now back with Tony and on crate rest most of the time to allow him to heal – though, as you can see from our picture, he’s getting around quite well when he is allowed out.
But, and here’s the kicker, the treatment to give Oliver a second chance (and don’t we all deserve one of those?) has so far cost more than BD500.
If you would like to donate to help Oliver on the road to recovery, give Tony a call on (39 629 889) or check out his Face Book page (Tony Dogfather) where you can find regular updates on Oliver’s progress.
