Charitable activities to try in Bahrain this month
Time Out Bahrain staff
Traditionally, one of the most important aspects of Ramadan is giving back, doing something for the less fortunate in the community.
If you want to do your bit, Bahrain City Centre is once again hosting the ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign in which shoppers at the mall are encouraged to donate gently-used clothes, non-perishable foods, books and eyeglasses at the customer service desk.
All donations will be given to Al Noor Charity Welfare to support various humanitarian causes in the local community. Last year, the initiative collected more than 6,000 items for charity.
Over at the Kempinski it’s not just the palate that gets a treat at Baharat but also the eyes and soul. They’re holding an exhibition of spice art created by talented local artists with the Ramadan theme of Art of Giving and the pieces will be on sale with part of the proceeds going to local charities.
Another artist who’s doing her bit is mosaic maker Faiza Saeed. During the month of Ramadan she will be donating a percentage of all sales to local charities.
