Want a pet? Why not adopt one of these dogs in Bahrain?
Time Out Bahrain staff
Time Out Bahrain has once again teamed up with Tony the Dogfather’s Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in the hope that our generous readers can help find loving homes for some of the abandoned animals waiting patiently for their forever families.
If you’d like to meet these boys and girls or any of the other dogs and cats currently keeping Tony and his crew busy, call him on (39 629 889).
Edward (Scissorhands) I know, I know, it’s a weird name for a cat, ‘specially since I’m actually a little girl! But when I first arrived Tony noticed I lie with my paws crossed and it made him think of the Johnny Depp film character. Not sure I’m keen on being compared to such a weird creature but, hey, we’re all different right. I’m a timid girl of around two months and a bit skinny, it’s taking me a while to get some meat on my bones and for my coat to shine. But, once I get comfortable with people, I do like a cuddle. Can I come and cuddle up to you?
Casper It’s been all about films down at the centre just recently. I got my name because people say I look like Casper the friendly ghost. I’ve no idea who they’re talking about myself so I’ll have to take their word for it, but one thing’s for sure, I’m certainly friendly. I’m a very sweet-natured little girl who likes nothing better than a snuggle with the volunteers and I’m not beyond snuffling through their pockets for tasty treats. I’m looking for a family who’ll have lots of time to help me learn all the lessons new babies need to know.
Smiler Bet you can’t guess where I got my name? That’s right, it’s because I’m never short of a big grin for anyone who can spare me some time. I’m about ten weeks only and I’m Casper’s brother, though we came in separately, and people say I’m like Tigger because I’m always bouncing. I love having my tummy tickled, playing tug, snacks and treats (though I mustn’t have too many apparently…what’s too many?) and, of course, cuddles. If you think I might be the perfect new member for your family, please bear in mind that I’m a puppy and, at the moment, I’m living in kennels so I’ll need to learn all the house rules. And, like a human baby, when my big teeth start coming through, I’ll need something to chew on so please don’t leave your shoes (or anything else valuable) where I can get hold of them!
Toffee There’s been lots of interest in me because I’m so handsome but Tony is looking for a very special home for me to make sure that, this time, I don’t come back. You see I’ve had two homes so far, the first one I escaped from and Tony couldn’t find my owners and the second was the one we thought would be my forever family but they brought me back when they got posted to another country and couldn’t take me with them. So hopefully, for me, it will be third time lucky. I’m about a year old, maybe a bit more, and I’m a beautiful poodle cross-breed so I need clipping to keep my coat looking good and I don’t shed loads of hair. I love attention and am always ready for a game and I’ve got loads of energy so I need someone who’s home most of the time to join in my games and tire me out.
