A group of Bahraini and ex-pat youngsters realised every footballer’s dream with a week-long training camp at the UK’s biggest club, Manchester United.
The 22 players travelled to England as part of the VIVA Manchester United Soccer Schools initiative, having been picked from hundreds of young players who took part in a series of local heats to find the very best. They attended lots of practice sessions and workshops aimed at giving an idea of professional basics and developing their talents in ways they can continue at home.
They also undertook numerous skill challenges honing their dribbling, shooting, passing and ball control and learned about maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and diet and players’ behaviour and attitude on and off the pitch.
One of the highlights fwas the chance to train at MUFC’s first team training ground at Carrington and meet legendary striker Andrew Cole who shared tips with the young players and joined in side games.
And of course there was a trip to Old Trafford where they got a players’ eye view, walking through the famous tunnel and checking out the dressing rooms and the dugouts.
Unfortunately, Time Out didn’t get to tag along but we can bring you a sneak peak at their photo album.
