Bahrain Mall Known as ‘Geant’ due to the hypermarket anchor store, Bahrain Mall hosts a variety of international and homegrown brands, as well as traditional crafts and a good food court. Open daily 10am-10pm. Avenue 28, Sanabis, www.thebahrainmall.com (17 558 101).
Country Mall Very convenient for burb-dwellers, Budaiya’s only mall has a few drawcards for city-slickers too, such as a specialist feng shui store, top-notch golfing shop, and hair salon just for kids. Open Sun-Thu 10am-10pm; Fri-Sat 10am-11pm. Budaiya (17 592 250).
Dana Mall With one of the most luxe cinemas in Bahrain and the double-storey Chakazoolu children’s entertainment centre, Dana Mall is a top choice for recreation and shopping. Open Sun-Thu 10am-10pm; Wed-Sat 10am-11pm. Sheikh Khalifa Highway, Sanabis, www.danamall.net (17 558 500).
Enma Mall Opened in August 2012 this is one of the island’s newest shopping destinations and home to the country’s second Geant Hypermarket. Some good shops with others due to open in the near future. Open daily 10am-10pm (Mall); 8am-midnight (Hypermarket). Umm Al Naasam Avenue, Riffa (39 474 577).

Seef Mall Remains a firm fave for its mix of high-street and designer labels, multi-screen cinema and coffee shop society. Open Sat-Wed 10am-10pm; Thu-Fri 10am-11pm. Sheikh Khalifa Highway, Seef, www.seef.net (17 581 111).
Sitra Mall Although out of the way for townies, this waterside mall gets the bargain hunters with its Le Marche Hypermarket, and stores selling designer goods and electronics. Open daily 10am-10pm. Sitra (17 457 272).
The Walk Bahrain The country’s only outdoor mall with various cafés and restaurants. Mainly aimed at families it also has a small number of retail shops. Open daily 9am-11pm. Road 1509, Riffa (16 666 661).
Yateem Centre This Manama Souk stalwart continues to draw people with its eclectic selection of stores, from electronics to jewellery. Open daily 9am-9.30pm. Souq, www.yateemcentre.com (17 215 615).
