Meet the pets up for adoption from Tony the Dogfather
Time Out Bahrain staff
With summer fast approaching, Tony the ‘Dogfather’ is expecting an increased influx of unwanted pets as people either leave the island and don’t take their animals with them, or plan long breaks and possibly don’t return.
The Dogfather’s Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, in Saar, is as always full to bursting point. So Time Out Bahrain has teamed up with Tony for a rehoming special in the hope of finding homes for some of last summer’s abandoned puppies.
Shorty This young lad is about a year old and has been with Tony since he was a tiny puppy. He was found on the streets and brought to the centre but, as he was initially very shy of people, he was overlooked for homing. He’s now a boisterous one year old who would make a great pet for an experienced dog owner.
Socks Socks came in at around the same time as Shorty and the two are great friends. Socks is a lovely sociable dog who loves to play and cuddle. He would make a fun companion and family pet.
Miracle This little girl got her name because the rest of her litter died of the canine parvovirus, and she was also extremely sick, but she’s made a full recovery and is a very loving dog who would make a super addition to any family.
Polo Snow white and gorgeous, Polo is a big boisterous lad who loves to play and go for walks. He would do really well with a family who are prepared to put the time in to train him as he loves to learn new things.
Butch Is a beautiful boy of around a year old who is a total love bug, he loves dogs and people and just wants to play and be affectionate. He will take well to training as he is very keen to please.
Jack The boy is a little shy but, once he gets to know his owner, you could not wish for a more loving companion. He would be best in a home with another dog or somebody who is home most of the day.
Ching This lad is a little older and had been on the streets for quite a while before Tony was able to catch him. He is still a little wary of new people but will be a good friend to whoever is willing to put in the time with him. He was previously homed but the family’s circumstances changed so this gorgeous dog is, once again, available for adoption.
Jazira Though only around a year old and still a baby herself, Jazira, who was found at the supermarket of the same name, has already had babies. She’s looking for a quiet home where she can get used to being the baby of the family.
Dotty How could anyone fail to fall in love with that little face? Dotty was found on the streets a few months ago and has been waiting patiently for her forever home ever since. She’s a really affectionate dog who loves to play, and would be a friendly additional to any family.
All these young dogs have been either spayed or neutered and would make fantastic family pets. Since they have been in rescue for quite some time, prospective owners will need to take time to get to know them, and learn to help them become great additions to their new families. If you’d like to meet any of these, or the many other dogs and cats at the centre, open day is Fridays from 10am-noon, or call Tony on 39 629 889. www.facebook.com/Tonythedogfather
