Tapas Bar & Restaurant Best for: Fiesta time The drive to Sofitel is so worth it to dine and drink on the terrace at Tapas. Pick from a wide and exciting range of tapas, some fantastic mixed beverages and sit outside, overlooking the Arabian Gulf, as the live Cuban band entertain. There’s nothing quite like it. Akiko Best for: Sushi lovers Booking a table in the garden area of this sophisticated Japanese spot is a must. It’s a stunning space (although we can’t complain about the interiors either!) and the food is excellent, encompassing everything from sushi to teppanyaki, noodles to tender beef tenderloin. Saffron Café Best for: Culture vultures Situated in Riffa Fort, Saffron Café not only offers tasty, classic Bahraini dishes but also offers customers a stunning view over the geographical features of ‘Wadi Al Haniniya’. Monsoon Best for: Tropical dining We love everything about the Monsoon venue with its quaint waterways indoors and the beautiful terrace outside where in cooler months you feel like you’re somewhere very far, far away. Trader Vic’s Best for: Large gathering It’s hard not to enjoy sitting on the terrace at Trader Vic’s where you can look out onto the lagoons, see flamingos strutting about, and know you’re a stone’s throw from one of Bahrain’s most beautiful beaches. Bushido Best for: Al fresco bento boxes The idyllic outdoor terrace seating at Bushido Restaurant & Lounge is surrounded by greenery and juts out onto a manmade lake. It’s a great place to sit for a meal with some beverages any time of day but we’d particularly recommend a lazy lunch with bento boxes and great company. It’s hard to beat. Bushido, Seef (1758 3555).
