Café Ceramique’s summer camp, which runs during the month of August, combines fun and learning in a home away from home setting. The award-winning, part craft workshop, part café, located on the second floor of Al A’ali Shopping Complex, offers children the chance to unleash their painting skills on a range of earthenware – mugs, cups, dishes, tiles, moneyboxes, ceramic animals and more – and create their own ceramic souvenir to take home, after it is glazed and fired. This year’s camp is open to children aged five years and older and is divided into three different themes: Little Chefs Day, Little Baristas Day and Little Artisans Day, teaching kids hands-on lessons in food making, bar activity and craft arts. There is also a summer camp for teens, which offers those aged 10 years and above a tutorial of more intricate ceramic painting procedures.
