Time Out Bahrain staff
New band Call into the bar at the Ramee Palace Hotel and say hello to the new Canadian band Hot Beats who take to the stage tonight for the first time. Thur 1, Dublin Bar, Juffair, Call 17 811 688.
Brunch launch The Kempinski is joining the brunch scene in Saveur with food prepared executive chef Holger Jackisch winner of the ‘Best Brunch in Dubai’ in 2007 and his culinary team. At BD28++ it’s not the cheapest but, unlike lots of others, brunchers get access to the outdoor infinity pool and there’s lots of kids’ entertainment too with the aim of attracting a real family crowd. Fri 2, Kempinski Hotel, Bahrain City Centre, Call 17 171 000.
Mini Me yoga Yoga apparently has all sorts of benefits for littluns, including soothing them at bedtime and getting them going in the morning. This all-day workshop for parents and teachers led by Kate Brown (Mini Me Yoga teacher) gives an insight to the process. Sat 3, World Beat Fitness Centre, Call 17 612 576 for reservations.
Quiz night JJ’s They keep threatening to replace the JJ’s quiz with something called Disco ball Bingo (yep, we don’t know what it is either), so take your chance to get down to one of the island’s favourite watering holes and show off how clever you are while you still can. As an added bonus it’s also ladies’ night so the girls can drink for just BD4 – could this be a ploy to give the boys a quizzing chance? Sundays, JJ’s, Call 39 329 083.
Tango time Fancy having a go at a Latin dance that’s not salsa, then maybe tango’s the one for you. Free classes for singles and couples, what’s not to like? Friday, Zodiac Lounge, Elite Grande, Seef, Call 17 565 888.
