Spring Ball Ball season is well and truly with us and the latest is that of the American Women’s Association which is all about raising funds for good causes while having a great time. You can get in on the act with tickets from Café Ceramique. May 10, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 7.30pm, Call (17 756 075).
Yoga presentation and workshop Get you ohms in tune for a night of yoga enlightenment with gurus Dave and Cheryl Oliver An Ashtanga Vinyasa instructor since 1990, Dave has studied with many international and well known teachers such as Tim Miller in the US and Pattabhi Jois in India. His wife Cheryl has been practicing and teaching yoga asana since 1998, and teaching Sanskrit, vedic chant and yoga philosophy since 2004. The pair will give a live presentation followed by dinner on Wed, May 9 and workshops on Thu and Fri from 9am-1pm and 4pm-8pm. Between Two Seas Exhibition Check out the exhibition of pictures from Andrew Weaver’s recently published book Between Two Seas which captures sunning images of modern Bahrain from the desert to the urban downtown architecture. We’ve seen the book and this show will be well worth a look. May 12-17, Arts Centre by the National Museum.
The Noise You can’t go wrong with a bit of live music and we’d highly recommend you check out The Noise. They’re not long out from the UK where they’re apparently one of the most popular covers bands going. Anyway, regardless of that, we really like them, it’s great to hear a bit of traditional singalong sometimes. Wed, Thur, Fri, JJ’s, Call (39 329 083).
