Have a laugh Check out this month’s comedians at the Chuckle Club which has added a new venue for September. The funnymen are Chris Martin (no, not that Chris Martin), Stuart Goldsmith and Pete Johansson who’s a TV and comedy circuit regular in the UK and in his native Canada.
This promises to be a laugh-a-minute night and we’re keen to check out the Chuckle Club in its new setting at the Bahrain Rugby Club. The show’s also on at The Brit Club and the InterCon and tickets are BD15. Wed-Fri, 11-13 September, various venues, Call (36 663 509)
Film fun If you’re tired of the latest round of summer blockbusters and fancy something a little more eclectic and cerebral, give Bahrain Cinema Club a try. Every Wednesday they show something you’d have no hope of finding in mainstream cinemas from a wide range of international directors. Last chance exhibition It’s the last chance to see the fabulous Celebrating Arab Creativity exhibition which was created in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Paris-based Institut du Monde Arabe. An exceptional collection presenting the most exhaustive panorama of contemporary Arab art to date, it features painting, sculpture, photography. Until September 15, Bahrain National Musuem.
