Winter tales Mon 1 to Wed 31 This year, Bahrain City Centre is celebrating the festive season with their ‘Winter Tales’ paying homage to the timeless story of The Nutcracker. The mall’s Central Galleria display has been transformed into a psychedelic style illustration of the tale featuring a series of activities, surprises and shop-and-win opportunities. Activities include a weekend puppet show performance, audio book display, a series of live performances by school students, shows by the mall’s retailers, kid’s colouring and cookie decorating stations. It starts on Wednesday in The Rugby Club, moving to The British Club on Thursday evening and ending up at The InterContinental Regency Hotel’s barbecue Friday brunch. Tickets are BD15. Techno with Derrick May Fri 5 Electronic musician Derrick May from the US is headlining a Red Bull Music Academy night from 10pm onwards at Mezzaluna, coinciding with the Bahrain Music Conference weekend. Derrick, from Detroit, is known as one of the founding fathers of techno and forms one third of the Belleville Three (alongside Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson).
