The Westin and Le Méridien open their doors at Bahrain City Centre
Yesterday the buildings attached to the popular Bahrain City Centre mall were occupied by another brand but as of today, July 1, 2014, two new Starwood properties have made their debut in Bahrain. The Westin Bahrain City Centre and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre have opened in the heart of the Seef District in the towers formerly taken by Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre.
The Westin, a contemporary brand that focuses on health and well-being, features 200 rooms and suites, alongside a diverse variety of food and beverage outlets including the all-day dining concept Saveur, a Parisian-style venue Boudoir and the boutique cafe T-Spoon, and has introduced the brand’s SuperfoodRX menu that incorporates dishes which are rich in nutrients, antioxidants and flavours. On top of all that, The Heavenly Spa by Westin offers a range of treatments and features a large Turkish hammam, a gym and swimming pool.
Next door, Le Méridien, a more art-oriented brand, has 260 contemporary rooms and suites, the Arabian restaurant Baharat and the trendy Bizarre Lounge which transforms from a lounge in the day to a vibrant nightlife spot in the evening. According to a statement, by the end of the year, the hotel will also launch the brand’s signature ‘Le Méridien Hub’ that transforms the traditional lobby into a social spot for creative people to gather and exchange ideas, while admiring works of art from Bahrain. Alongside this, they’ll also introduce the Middle East’s first Longitude 50˚ cafe complete with Illy coffee and éclairs.
Guido de Wilde, senior vice president and regional director of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Middle East, commented, ‘We look forward to introducing Westin’s winning approach to well-being and Le Méridien’s contemporary lifestyle approach through the arts, culture and cuisine to the local community and international travellers to Manama.’ Visit www.westinbahraincitycentre.com and www.lemeridienbahraincitycentre.com
