Fundraising garage sale, summer camp and fun science for kids

Bag a bargain
The regular garage sales where you will find all sorts of useful stuff for sale in aid of Tony the Dogfather’s animal rescue and rehabilitation centre have changed venues to the villa shop behind Al Jazeera off the Budaiya Highway which previously hosted the furniture sales. You can still find the big stuff but now there’s lots of other bits and bobs too.

Revolting science
After attracting more than 600 youngsters in its first ten days, Bahrain Science Centre is continuing its series of science workshops through to the end of August. As well as having the opportunity to try out the centre’s amazing equipment, kids will have the chance to meet a real scientist and learn all about how our eyes work as he dissects a camel’s eye, they’ll also learn how to dissect a fish finding its gills, stomach, swim bladder etc for a real hands-on learning experience. Sounds absolutely revolting but just the sort of thing kids, particularly budding young scientists, will love.
