Eid, the return of brunch and a Blue Moon party
Eid festivitiesWe’re all looking forward to Eid, this year seems to have been hotter than ever and it could be the ideal chance for a quick getaway, see p17 for our pick of the best breaks. But it’s also a time for lots of partying on the island from the traditional Bahraini Eid celebrations, which tend to be very much family affairs, to the welcome re-opening of the bars and restaurants.
Subject to confirmationCheck out the bandsWith the arrival of Ramadan, many of the great bands who kept us entertained over the last few months saw their contracts end and they flew off to pastures know. Sad, but it means there are lots of new musicians coming in on six-month contracts most of them starting over Eid so it’s a great chance to check them all out over the break.
Various venues across the islandBlue Moon PartyThe date’s been set for the next full moon party at the lovely Al Dar. Apparently there’s no more sea curfew so boats will be running to and from the island all night and In between it’s party time all the way with movies, music, good food and more. We’ll be there, will you.
