Business as usual doesn't sound like the most fancy of offerings for New Year’s Eve. Unless, of course, your usual business is running Bahrain’s best European restaurant in which case the lack of entry fee or gimmickry is reason enough to celebrate. Especially considering there will be live jazz music to accompany the excellent food.

Strictly for the late night crew, this NYE after-party runs on from 2am until 5am at the Ramee Grand in Seef. If you’ve been dancing since midnight and are starting to flag, drop in here for a variety of wraps, breakfast items and finger foods.

There’s a chance you know the Bizarre Lounge for its lively Friday night salsa sessions. So it’ll come as no surprise there is a salsa theme here tonight so be sure to save space for sashaying after the snack buffet.

Some of Bahrain’s best views and one of the night’s best parties converge on the 28th floor of the Swiss-Belhotel. The DJ will spin tunes ‘til late and there is a midnight snack to keep you well-fuelled.

An understated party in a venue of not inconsiderable elegance, this New Year’s Eve is ideal for those wanting to celebrate without having to splash out on bells, whistles and a big buffet.

At the time of going to press the Ramee Grand had still not confirmed who the midnight guest performance would be but even without a special performer the Seef nightspot could yet be one of the sleeker parties at a venue known for progressive beats and late night fun.

A Harvesters may not strike you as the obvious place to recreate Mardi Gras but we insist you remember to bring beads and bling if you’re braving this NYE party. The ticket price is just an entrance fee so remember to take along some extra coin.

If you think the kids can stay awake long enough, this is a top idea for a family New Year’s Eve party. There will be a festive buffet, DJ, kids’ entertainment and, best of all, a chill-out room for little ones to relax if the late hours are too much for them.

Time after time, Bushido blows us away with incredible parties and it will be no different on NYE. There is a limited dining deal with a starry buffet on the lagoon terrace. For this exclusive experience you’ll pay BD45. If you want to skip the food, go straight to the partying and you can experience what gravity really means.Collaborating with Bahrain’s only indoor skydiving facility, the swish club welcomes the mesmerising talent of Laserman – a creative visual show with a hi-tech element. The roof will no doubt be raised.

If you don’t mind a bit of a drive, or can get hotel reservations, travel down to the Al Areen area and ring in the New Year with entertainment and dining at this stunning hotel. Tunes will be provided by DJ Abdel and the buffet promises to be huge.

DJs VJMP3 and Rodney step behind the decks for a night of dance mash-ups at this Juffair nightclub. Contemporary dance music and table reservations (at a steep sounding BD500) make this night one for the serious clubbers.

Look across Bahrain tonight and you’ll find Rio carnivals, Harlem club nights and plenty of Arabian discos, but we’re particularly intrigued by the idea of a Hawaiian luau in the poolside gardens of the Elite Seef Residence hotel. The evening also features a buffet and unlimited beverages.

Sax trio, Saxations, will bring large servings of funk, soul and jazzy ambience to one of Block 338’s most stylish venues on New Year’s Eve. There is a minimum spend for diners and an entry fee but expect this party to be talked about for at least a full year.

Live ghazal performance and a four-course set menu at a stylish Indian restaurant will be a lot of people’s perfect way to say a fond farewell to 2015.

The Best Chinese restaurant in Bahrain strikes us as a marvellous location to either say goodbye to this year or welcome in the new one in a romantic style. You’ll need to decide which you prefer but at least you’ll know that here there will be lots of excellent Chinese food to munch on, thanks to a special set menu the chef has prepared.
