7 Senses
We chat to the guys and girls filling the dancefloor at Davy Crockett's Discuss this article
We’re launching a new feature this month, chatting to the bands who perform at some of the island’s best venues. To kick off we went to meet 7 Senses, the guys who fill the dance floor at Davy Crockett’s at the Diva Hotel – and their alter-egos, Non-Sense, who get the karaoke going on Monday nights. We asked them all the same questions:
Name: Charlie Pike
Age: 31
From: French/English/Canadian (Ed: nothing like hedging your bets there Charlie)
Instrument: Guitar, I’ve been playing since I was 13 or 14
Fave song to perform? Killing in the name of – Rage Against the Machine
And to listen to? Little wing Hendrix or Stevie Ray? Ooh that’s a hard one, probably Stevie Ray

Thunderstruck, ACDC to both perform and listen to
I’m a rubbish sneeze teacher.
Other stuff we need to know: Our most requested song is Bohemian rhapsody, we do all the different voices and we’re very good at it, now people know we can do it, it’s become our most requested song.
On Monday’s we don stupid costumes to take on our alter-egos to become Non-Sense, we figure people are sometimes a bit afraid to make a fool of themselves by getting up to sing, so if we look silly too it helps them take the plunge. We even have Monday night names – Tiger on keys, Garth on guitar, Ringo on drums, Tricky Dicky on bass and Golden V, Javis and Pink U on vocals.
