Chuckle Club This month’s offering from the Chuckle Club features three more international comics - Junior Simpson, Silky and Paul Sinha. Simpson is a regular on the UK comedy circuit and festivals as well as being in demand as far afield as South Africa and Australia for his unique brand of observational comedy. Sinha was born in the UK to Bengali parents and into a family medical dynasty. Qualifying as a doctor in the 1990s, he also then took his first steps on the stand-up comedy circuit. He pursued both careers and at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival earned a nomination for the highest accolade in live comedy, the if.comedy award (formerly Perrier). Since then he has dedicated himself to a full-time comedy career. And completing the line-up, Silky’s quirky Liverpudlian humour is also much in demand on the international comedy circuit. Chuckle Club. British Club, April 10 and Regency Intercontinental, April 11. Tickets BD15. Call (36 663 509).

The hip hop master’s well known for his beats throughout the region and has played with lots of the scene’s biggest names internationally. Also up will be local favourites DJ Nizz and DJ Kazz so it promises to be a really rocking night. We’re looking forward to seeing how this brand develops. Lush Party, Block 338, April 11. DJ Kool takes to the pool Those nice people at Punchline are hosting a cool pool party with legendary spinner DJ Kool. A fusion of feel-good go-go music with hip-hop’s original block-party aesthetic led DJ Kool to the fore in rap’s return to the old school during the late ‘90s. A veteran of Washington DC’s go-go circuit, who worked as a warm-up DJ for Rare Essence, Kool began recording in 1988 and has gone from strength to strength collaborating with some of hip hop’s giants. He’ll be supported by Bahrain’s own DJ Outlaw, who’s going to be a busy man this month. Pool Party, Oasis Pool, Elite Seef Residence, April 18, from 5pm. Tickets BD10. Call (36 663 509).
Full Moon returns At last, the Full Moon parties return to Al Dar this month with the first event of the year on April 25. DJs and performers had not been confirmed as we went to press but, if it’s anything like last year, you can expect an awesome night of partying and great fun under the stars. These tend to be quite raucous affairs that mellow out towards dawn and everyone should get to one at least once. Full Moon Party, Al Dar. April 25. Details TBC. Call (39 991 377).
