Chuckle Club This month’s Chuckle Club features new-to-the-island talents who promise to have you cracking up. Mick Ferry is renowned as a fine purveyor of lugubrious surrealism and has quickly established himself as one of the most sought after comics on the British and international comedy circuit. From compere to Comedy Store and TV, he is simply funny in every medium. Gareth Richards was nominated for the 2010 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer and his brand of observational comedy has quickly made him a tour favourite. Sally-Anne Hayward makes up this month’s trio. An award winner who ‘combines the things you shouldn’t like about your best friend’s mum with the sensibilities of Jack the Ripper’, her butter wouldn’t melt demeanour makes her humour surpising. Chuckle Club. Wed, March 12, Bahrain Rugby Football Club, Thu, March 13, The British Club and Fri, March 14, InterContinental Regency Hotel. Tickets BD15. Call (36 663 509)
Make some noise The island’s favourite music makers, Battle of the Bands and BIC Music Contest winners The Noise return to their regular spot at JJ’s after a prolonged holiday. There’s a slightly alterered line-up but never fear front woman Jo and guitarist/singer James are, of course, still in place joined by Irishman Richard Murray on bass and drummer Scott Wilson said goodbye at the end of 2013 but decided he couldn’t bear to leave us so he’s also back. They’ve been away too long but Jo assures us they’ve been working on some awesome new sounds and we can’t wait to see them back on stage at JJ’s where they belong. Thursday, March 6, JJ’s.
