An English castle with a French-flavoured interior, all in a desert country. Glassed-in upstairs terrace, cigar lounge, stylish décor (as well as Arthurian paintings and a collection of swords), and a menu comprising of a select range of dishes very well done.

Husband and I did the moules et frites night on the Tuesday which while nice, was far too expensive at BD22 for the all in package. Even at BD14 (which is equivalent to $35) for two plates of food is a lot of money. Better deals on the island.

Very disappointing meal - the service was very attentive and the waitresses friendly but the food was not great. My husband had rib-eye steak which was poor quality with a lot of fat and gristle, with a tiny pile of sliced potato which set him back 11BD. My scallops were good, but served with a tiny pile of mashed potato as they had run out of the advertised celeriac. No salad or fresh vegetables provided with the main courses. As Jane said, lots of better value places to eat - I shan't be returning to Camelot.

Appalling, I was there Last Saturday 2/07/2011. I was served raw chicken. The "chef" who I recognised from a magazine, was chatting outside and didn't even offer an explanation. Please think before going as I been very sick.

I went to the wine tasting on Tues. night. While the wine was mediocre, the crowd was great. I ended up ordering a bunch of appetizers, which were pretty good.

The deor is very pleasant and the watresses very attentive. But the food isnt good. The warm bread was a lovely start and I thought great. But we both ordered the equivilent of French onion soup and the first taste of the broth itself was pure stock cube, once we dug into it it did improve. My husband ordered the lamb medium and the centre was almost raw nver mind rare.
I ordered crusted pork fillet, which turned out to be a pork loin steak and not a good one at that. I had imagined a nice long piece of fillet but that certainly wasnt whot i got.
The waitress asked how was the food and i said not good and explained She said she would get the manager i said not to bother but she said she would get him. A gentleman ina grey suit poked his head around the corner but certainly did not approach us. Our waitress then offered us a free cup of tea or coffee.
We wont hurry to go back There are lots of great places to eat in Bahrain Camelot does not seem to be one of them.
