Walking across a traditional-style bridge certainly gets you in an Oriental mood, so you'll definetly be ready for your meal when you enter the opulent China Garden restaurant at The Gulf Hotel

I was excited to take my wife to this restaurant for lunch and my expectation was really high after seeing this restaurant winning best chines Restaurant of the 2012, the food was normal no spacial test in it compared to some other chines restaurant in town and got disappointing about it, I didn't feel much of winning award restaurant team around their environmental.

I went to China town today for lunch up on Timeout recommendation. I thought because it's also located in a 5 star hotel it will not disappoint me.
2 glasses Red wine one was Syrah or Shira. The other one was Cabernet Sauvignon... The wine came in a premature that was between 3-6 degrees. For who doesn't know that means colder than water should be severed.
Chicken fried rice was tasteless no salt, no soy-sauce actually was not addable without putting some sauce on top.
Crispy shredded beef was very crispy and nice but strangely cooked with capsicum and was not strong enough flavor of chili because when eaten with rice it becomes tasteless.
Schezwan Chicken was nice. And the steamed rice was done nicely (but how wrong can you go with steamed rice?).
Service was far too low. And when confronted with my complain about the freezing red wine the waiter was so stressed, seemed he took my advice of changing their wine preserve their wine as a personal insult and did not even apologize for my incandescence!
I do not understand how did this restaurant even win your prize!
VERY DISAPPOINTING... NOT WORTH 1/2 OF THE MONEY PAID. 2 STARS FROM 5!!!

Best Chinese food ever in Bahrain and incomparable than anywhere else. The entire dining experience is outstanding.
