A unique cooking experience
Chef Susy Massetti is opening her kitchen at Masso for Sunday morning classes. There’s the chance to enjoy learning recipes, techniques and insider tips in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced cook or even just want to know how to make your favourite dish.
‘All About…..’ interactive cooking classes are running on Sundays beginning March 4 and will last two hours from 10.30am with participants getting try out three or four recipes either specialising in a particular cuisine or a particular food category, such as seafood, pasta or chicken.
After the class you can either sit down and enjoy your creations with your fellow students at the communal table (guests welcome at BD 10) or simply take your food away with you! The classes are BD15 per person net, inclusive of lunch or take away food and there will be a maximum 10 people per class.
Those taking part also get a personalised recipe booklet and class recipes will be posted on www.massorestaurant.com so they can be recreated at home. To enroll call Masso on 17 721 061.
Moda Mall Gourmet Festival
The restaurants in Bahrain’s favourite designer mall have got together to make Moda Mall a foodie’s paradise during March with deals and offers across the complex For every BD20 spent at the restaurants there’s a chance to win a pair of his and hers Rolex watches and for every BD5 spent at the cafés and coffee shops, there’s a draw for BD100 of Moda Mall gift vouchers.
There’ll be live cooking stations and food sampling until March 6, evening entertainment at Abd El Wahab and BiCE in the evenings, a themed night at Maki on March 10 as well as a daily happy hour from 4pm to 7pm.
Ladies’ nights at Abd El Wahab on Tuesday and themed evenings at BiCE every Sunday from 6pm until midnight.
Participating outlets include: Bice, Maki, Abdel Wahab, Golestan, Soie, Illy Café, Lina’s Café, Patisserie Valerie, Costa Coffee and Caribou Coffee and between them they’ll be putting on a range of enterainment and offering great discounts and tasting opportunities throughout the month.
Supermarket Alosra has launched a Think Local initiative, to support Bahrain’s local producers by selling their products.
To kick off the campaign, Alosra has partnered with Bahraini Sadeq Abdulla who farms on Budaiya Highway, a stone’s throw a from the supermarket in Saar, and is planning to support others around the country. Look out for the Think Local labels in store.
The dates have been announced for the 4TH Annual Food & Hospitality Expo which is coming up from April 17-19 at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
To be fair it’s mostly a trade show but they’re currently taking entries from local hotel chefs who’ll be competing live to create Bahrains best dish!
Visitors will be able to watch the competition in progress and taste the delights and there’ll also be kids’ entertainment, cup cakes and all manner of foodie-type technology to try out.
