The Meat Co
South African steakhouse chain popular across the Gulf 6 Reviews
When Man first thought – let’s put this bit of animal on the fire and grill it – he would have no idea how good that piece of beef could taste in the hands of real experts. A visit to The Meat Co would quickly put him straight. These guys know their meat and how to cook it – and the superb aged Australian steaks are in very safe hands at the Bahraini branch of the South African steak chain.
The modern, contemporary and comfortable settings make The Meat Co a great destination for a special night out, with an interior that is stylish and stark. Modern art adorns the walls, while diners relax in comfortable round red chairs. The service is first class – helpful, fast and attentive without being a nuisance. Just remember to book a table as it is a very popular venue. But as for the food – vegetarian readers shut your eyes now. We kicked off our meaty evening with the South African boerewors sausage starter with polenta covered in a spicy sauce. The steaks, both the fillet and the rib eye, were melt-in-the-mouth tender. They are served with your selection of potatoes, vegetables and sauces, which are served on the side so you decide just how much or how little you require.
Just remember to leave room for the desserts. The chocolate fondant came highly recommended by the waiter, and we could see why, and the Malva apricot sponge pudding comes highly recommended by us, and you will see why.
