A Lounge
Casual café with light bites and welcoming coffees Discuss this article
Located in the Adliya area, A Lounge works well as a place to grab a cup of coffee and light bite to eat, if not for an evening meal with friends. The lounge looks out onto one of the hippest streets in Adliya, and boasts black and white sofas, chairs and low tables plus a book shelf filled with glossy magazines and art and travel books. As for the food, they serve classy sandwiches and salads in generous portions, as well as comforting staples like jacket potatoes with all the trimmings.
There’s also a range of good-tasting cakes and pastries, as well as excellent coffee and a few freshly squeezed juices (the watermelon is recommended). Service is casual and occasionally shambolic, but prices are more than reasonable, so who minds whether they put a napkin on your lap or not? This is a cute independent café that makes a welcome change from those found inside the mega malls and five- star international hotels.
