To mark the tenth anniversary of the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, Bahrain International Circuit is going all-out on trackside entertainment to make sure the event is a true family affair and one to be remembered.
For the first time ever it will be a night race with the drivers leaving the grid at 6pm but there are practice rounds to watch as well as support races with the opening round of the GP2 Series – famed for providing the F1 drivers of tomorrow – and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, the single manufacturer race which is always entertaining to watch with its hard-fought rivalries and regional star drivers.
Meanwhile, off the track, there’s something for everyone:
Boadicea – An all-girl hip-hop/street dance group whose style replicates how warriors work together to work as a team to win. The girls team their kicking dance moves with bright, fun fashion for a really entertaining dance show.
ThePeteBox – A solo performer, musician, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who’s an award-winning beatboxer. Using a loop pedal, guitar and his otherworldly multi-phonic voicebox he builds tracks as diverse as any band or DJ.
Peridot – A South London dance crew regarded among the world’s elite with live shows full of illusion-creating choreography using robotics and other hip-hop dance moves to keep audiences enthralled.
Spark! LED Drummers – A visually exciting show combining high-impact drumming, dynamic choreography and amazing lighting design. They’ll be strolling the public area during the evenings getting the audience involved with their fun performances.
Cornalusa – A Portugese ensemble who play medieval melodies in costume, kind of roaming minstrels.
Sideshow Steve – An award-winning interactive show combining circus skills and jaw-dropping stunts for the whole family to enjoy.
The Dapper Chaps – UK-based, multi-skilled stilt walkers, circus performers and all-round entertainers who’ve travelled all around the world with their unique brand of humour.
Under The Sea
Main Frame Events – Staging a variety show with an under-water theme in the kids’ tent area.
Full Frame Events – One of the world’s premier ‘green screen’ companies which will transport visitors to an underwater world.
Lobster stiltwalkers – Larger than life crustaceans who will roam the kids’ section posing for pictures and interacting with young visitors.
Nu Sxool – Star street dance crew who wowed on the 2012 series of ’Britain’s Got Talent’. The performers are all aged ten-17, so prepare for young audience members to come away inspired.
High Rope Course – Vertigo inducing physical challenge for those who like to push themselves, keeping their balance while negotiating the ladders and obstacles.
F1 Game Zone
Games, simulators and more – Podium photo ops, test co-ordination and reaction speed on a realistic motion simulator and learn how to complete a pit stop with life-like equipment and instruction.
