The Chuckle Club

The month’s installation of comedy gold from The Chuckle Club is introducing Stephen Carlin, Ian Smith and Rory O’Hanlon to the island tour. It starts on Wednesday 3 in The Rugby Club, moving to The British Club on Thursday evening and ending up at The InterContinental Regency Hotel’s barbecue Friday brunch. Tickets are BD15.

Get your panto hats on as The Manama Theatre Club performs four shows of the classic tale of Aladdin at The British Club. Shows take place on Wednesday from 7pm, Friday at 1.30pm and 5.30pm, and then on Saturday from 2.30pm. It’s BD6 for members and BD8 for non-members.

Carols, trees and Santa in InterCon

The lobby at the InterContinental Regency is set to be decked out for this evening which will see Santa arrive, while the hotel team lights the Christmas tree and a live carols are sung. It all starts from 6.30pm.

Carols, trees and minced pies with Crowne Plaza

Kick start the festive season with a spot of caroling, some mulled drinks and minced pies as the Crowne Plaza Bahrain prepare to light their Christmas tree. The event is taking place at La Mosaique restaurant from 7pm and it’s free to enter.

Massari Live in Ibrida

Canadian pop artist Massari is in Ibrida at the Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa in Seef for one night only, performing his signature sound; a distinct blend of Middle Eastern melodies with contemporary pop music. He performs from 11pm while happy hour is from 7pm and 10pm and ladies can drink for free until midnight.

Korean Film Festival 2014

A new kind of film festival is being held at the Bahrain National Museum Auditorium in collaboration with The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Foundation. The second installation is on December 4, with the final showing on December 12. This week watch The Thieves (Dec 4, 7.30pm) and then Miracle in Cell No. 7 (Dec 12, 7.30pm).
The Thieves is an action adventure that also happens to be the highest domestic grossing film in the Republic of Korea in recent years.

The team at Al Riwaq Art Space has launched their annual Market 338 concept again with a focus on sustainability and being green. ‘The Nest’, as it is now called, sees a whole host of dedicated installations and a range of crafty vendors selling their wares. It’s running for another two weekends until December 13. The timings are as follows: Thursday, 5pm-10pm; Friday, 3pm-10pm; Saturday, 11am-8pm.

Techno with Derrick May

Techno legend Derrick May from Detroit is flying in to host the Red Bull Music Academy’s event at Mezzaluna on December 5 from 10pm onwards, coinciding with the weekend-long Bahrain Music Conference.

Bumblefoot live

Legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal is playing for one night at Ibrida in Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa, Seef, as part of JAM Up BH. Alongside him, Dubai’s Point of View and Bahrain’s very own Ala Ghawas | Likwid are performing live. It’s BD10 for regular tickets or BD20 for VIP. The musical extravaganza starts from 9pm onwards.

Le Nozze di Figaro

A performance of Le Nozze Di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), one of Wolfgang Mozart’s most famous works originally composed and written in 1786, is taking place from 8pm at the Bahrain National Theatre at the Bahrain National Museum. The play has been recreated and produced by the Festival of Aix-en-Provence in collaboration with Opéra de Dijon and Opéra Théâtre de Saint Etienne, featuring musical direction by Jérémie Rhorer performed by the Le Cercle de l’Harmonie Orchestra and Les Arts Florissants Choir.
