Bahrain's Water Garden revamp almost finished

The revamp of Manama’s Water Garden is ‘nearing completion’, the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry has revealed.

The development project, which covers six hectares and has seen clay removed from both of the lakes, has cost more than BHD2.5 million so far.

Once complete, there will be more seating areas, additional green spaces and games for children

The works will increase the number of environmentally-friendly trees in the park to number 1,200.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf stressed the importance of conserving the historic identity of the iconic garden during a visit to the development.

The parking lot and service-only buildings have already been completed.
