Bahrain’s best karaoke bars

There are few nights out that are more fun than karaoke.

Nothing beats the feeling of standing on stage, belting out I’ll Make A Man Out Of You while your friends make fun of you for sounding like a dying cat.

There are plenty of spots for you to try out karaoke in Bahrain, and we’ve rounded up a few of the best.

And please, if you can actually sing, go to an open mic night - no one wants to follow on from someone who’s as talented as Beyonce.

Bangalore Pub
As the name suggests, this spot is great for desi karaoke. The bar hosts a weekly night on Fridays, and the staff even pick out their voice of the week (it won’t be us, we can tell you that much).
Every Fri 8pm-11pm. Bangalore Pub, Adliya (1725 9585).

FIZZ Lounge
If you’re up for a mammoth karaoke session, FIZZ Lounge is your best bet, with a five-hour karaoke slot every Friday from 7pm until midnight. The bar is then open until 2am, so you can make a proper night of it.
Every Fri 7pm-midnight. FIZZ Lounge, The Arch Hotel, Juffair (1711 6611).

Irish Village
Every single karaoke singer at Irish Village will get a free house drink - even if your singing is so bad it’s almost criminal. The Wednesday night karaoke session, from 7pm until midnight, also falls mostly during happy hour (which sees drinks start at BHD2 until 10pm every day). You can’t go wrong here.
Every Wed 7pm-midnight. Irish Village, Adliya (3220 8001).

JJ’s Irish Restaurant
Karaoke is a big deal at JJ’s Irish Restaurant - every year the bar hosts a mega competition over Christmas, with prizes worth BHD700 this year. Mondays are karaoke nights, and kick off at 9pm, but this one’s always popular so it’s best to sign up early. You’ll also get a free short drink every single time you sing.
Every Mon 9pm onwards. JJ’s Irish Restaurant, Hoora (3384 3005).
