We don’t know about you, but we’ll never pass up the opportunity to listen to music for free.
Even if the performance isn’t to your taste (and you can get everything from rock music to jazz in bars across Bahrain), it’s always a fun time and a good way to absorb a spot of culture.
Which is why the news that Zade Dirani will be performing for free in Bahrain next week struck a chord with us.
The talented Jordanian pianist will be tickling the ivories at the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre on January 12 from 8pm until 9pm.
You’ll be treated to Arabic compositions including Zaina and Haya, plus famous melodies from the region interpreted for the piano.
You’ll be in good company, too – Dirani has previously performed for Queen Rania of Jordan and the UK’s Queen Elizabeth.
If you’re after more concerts and events, don’t forget to check out our dedicated culture section here.
There are plenty of free exhibitions on in Bahrain at the moment, including one on Jurassic-era sea creatures and another on the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
Free. Sun Jan 12 8pm-9pm. Shaikh Ebrahim Centre, Muharraq (1732 2549).
