Hundreds of pieces will be on display at the Bahrain National Museum and Bahrain National Theatre

The Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition will be returning next week for its 46th edition.

First started in 1972, the gathering gives artists the opportunity to show off their work and discuss the art world in all its forms.

Since the start of the event, more than 5,500 pieces from 2,600 artists have gone on display, with works ranging from surrealism to abstract and impressionism and contemporary.

This year’s event will be held at both the Bahrain National Museum and Bahrain National Theatre from January 15 until February 15.

You’ll be able to check out all the artwork on display during regular opening hours, which at 10am until 8pm from Wednesday to Monday.

Alongside the main event, Food is Culture is returning for a fifth year. The project sees five artists and five chefs work together for two months to make something creative, ranging from paintings to videos or even cakes.

The results of the project will be presented at the Bahrain National Museum between January 26 and January 30, from 7pm until 9pm. It will be accompanied by a short film and a publication.
