Chinese New Year in Bahrain 2020: Gansu Folk Art Troupe putting on free performance at Cultural Hall

The world is set to welcome the Year of the Rat later on this month, and the Chinese Embassy in Bahrain has organised a very special free performance for the occasion.

This Sunday (January 12), the Gansu Folk Art Troupe will be showcasing Chinese culture at the Cultural Hall in Manama.

From 7pm, the group will be putting on a dazzling dance show highlighting the regional characteristics of north-western China through Chinese acrobatics and traditional dances such as Dunhuang.

The programme, entitled Charm of Silk Road – Longyuan Cadenza, will also feature plenty of folk songs performed on traditional instruments.

China Garden in the Gulf Hotel will be hosting on a cooking master class with Chih-Yuan Lin, while WU Restaurant at the ART Rotana is putting on a special three or four-course set menu.

The Four Seasons Bahrain Bay will also be throwing a special brunch with live dim sum and Peking duck stations, and there’ll also be prosperity tossed salad and Singapore chili crab for you to tuck into.
