Bahraini travel writer to give talk at La Fontaine

Bahraini travel writer Fahad Ibrahim Al Shihabi will be giving a talk at La Fontaine Centre of Contemporary Art tonight (February 18).

Shihabi will be sharing some of the strangest things he noticed while travelling through more than 100 countries.

He has published a series of four books, titled In the Eye of the Beholder, based on his experiences, each dedicated to different countries.

The first covers his travels through Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Madagascar.

His second book covers Peru, Venezuela, Panama, Cuba, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

The third explores his journeys in Iceland, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.

His fourth and final book, My Beloved Bahrain, is dedicated to the Kingdom.

Shihabi said, “I will be talking about strange and unusual things I had noticed during my trips, related to traditions, food and laws.

“I will also share some tales that are stranger than fiction."
