Ebrahim Khalifa wins audience award at Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition

Ebrahim Khalifa has won the audience winner award, part of the 46th Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has announced.

His artwork, Joy of my Eyes, was given the accolade on Sunday (March 8) during a ceremony at the Bahrain National Theatre.

This year’s exhibition was held between January 15 and February 15, with displays in both the Bahrain National Museum and Bahrain National Theatre.

The Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition has been running since 1972, and has seen more than 5,500 pieces from 2,600 artists have go on display, with works ranging from surrealism to abstract and impressionism and contemporary.

Sixty-eight artists took part this year, including pioneers of the Bahraini art movement and the Al-Riwaq Art Space.
