Museum of Bahrain’s municipal history proposed

Bahrain is considering creating a museum dedicated to municipal history following a proposal by councillors.

Northern Municipal Council has approved the plan to allocate land for the project, and it will be reviewed by the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, reports Gulf Daily News.

Bahrain’s first municipality was set up in Manama in 1919, and the proposed museum would cover the history from then until the modern day.

It would also feature historical documents, photographs, and movies.

Bahrain already has plenty of incredible museums, and we’ve rounded up our favourites in this guide.
