Al Areen Palace and Spa
If you want to go all out on your trip to Bahrain, head to the Al Areen Palace and Spa. Each villa comes with its own open air swimming pool and jet pool, meaning you can spend all day by the pool without ever being disturbed. You can also choose to take part in a wellness programme at the spa complete with yoga classes and meditation, or enjoy a spa treatment.

Downtown Rotana
Another well-situated hotel, the Downtown Rotana is right next door to Bab Al-Bahrain and the famous Manama Souq. Make sure you head to Alto, the restaurant and bar on the 25th floor, for incredible views over the city.

Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay
With the exception of the World Trade Centre, the Four Seasons hotel in Bahrain Bay is surely the most iconic building in the Manama skyline. Every room offers incredible views over the city, but if that’s not enough, head up to the Blue Moon Lounge by Wolfgang Puck on the 50th floor. If you want to catch a tan while in Bahrain you’re in luck, as the hotel recently opened up a private beach.

Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa
If you’re after a hotel that has it all, head to the Gulf Hotel. Businessmen head here for the meetings rooms, stressed out folks stay here for the spa, and everyone else visits for the restaurants. There are ten inside the hotel, including Thai and Iranian food, and the hotel boasts Rasoi by Vineet, the first fine dining restaurant run by a Michelin-starred chef in Bahrain.

The Merchant House
This hotel has just 46 suites, and you’ll be gutted if you miss the chance to stay here. The owners of Merchant House converted an old building and kept a number of original features, but added in hundreds of paintings and photographs throughout the lobby, corridors and even the rooms, creating a very unique space. The real highlight here is definitely the rooftop restaurant and pool, which will be perfect for the winter months.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain
The Ritz-Carlton is yet another 5* hotel that you just won’t want to leave thanks to its range of restaurants, including the scrumptious Cantina Kahlo, which offers up Mexican food, and the exclusive La Table Krug by Y which seats just 16 people a night.
