Al Bander Hotel & Resort

Feature-filled family hotel is like a Bahraini Butlins

Time Out Says

An excellent hotel for families who love to be active, Al Bander is Bahrain’s answer to the UK’s infamous Butlins chain. The extensive beach offers watersports such as boating, canoeing, rowing and boat hire, and children can also exhaust themselves playing aqua volley and climbing the inflatable iceberg. Away from the beach, there are plenty of other activities – a six-lane bowling alley, billiards, darts, squash, tennis etc. The hotel has a pleasant wood-floored gym with aerobics classes available. Families will find themselves in one of the fair-priced chalets or cabanas, all of which have balconies and are mostly water-facing. Many are equipped with living/dining rooms and kitchens, but if you’ve come on holiday to escape cooking, the resort has five restaurants to cater for a variety of tastes. The health club runs a summer camp in July and August, which means that parents are free to enjoy their holiday in peace.
