Once your kids getting into drawing, it’s hard for them to stop. Before you know it, they’re no longer satisfied with colouring outside of the lines and are scribbling on the walls in permanent marker.

This creativity is something to be embraced rather than curbed – and a festival celebrating just that is headed to Bahrain this month.

The Big Draw Festival, which has been held worldwide for 19 years but will come to Bahrain for the first time this year, will run from Thursday October 24 to Saturday October 26.

For three days children will be encouraged to draw labyrinths during a number of activities held at The Avenues mall.

The hope is that the festival will “bring people together to champion the mounting evidence, both anecdotal and academic, that a more creative life really can improve your health”.

Baloo’s Buddies, a charity which uses dogs to help children with special needs in Bahrain, and the RIA centre are working together to host the event.
Free. Thu Oct 24-Sat Oct 26 10am-8pm. Gate 3 – The Bay Gate, The Avenues, Road 4660, Sea Front, Manama (1771 6871).
