Bahrain schools set to reopen in mid-September

Government schools in Bahrain will welcome students from September 16, Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi has said.

Teaching staff will return to work from September 6, Al Nuami told Akhbar Al Khaleej.

Private schools are set to open earlier, from mid-August until the start of September.

Schools, universities and kindergartens closed across Bahrain on February 26, initially for a month before being extended until further notice.

The teaching institutions were closed as part of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Since then, teaching has moved online, with teachers using tools such as Microsoft Teams and Office 365 for lessons.

Plus, eight hours of lessons are being broadcast daily on Bahrain TV Channel 2 (sports channel).
