Bahrain to issue driving licences to some under 18s

Learning to drive is an important step in becoming an adult, no matter where you are in the world.

And under-18 year olds in Bahrain will now get the chance to start their driving lessons early thanks to a new announcement from the General Directorate of Traffic.

Youngsters will be able to pick up their learner licence two months before they turn 18, provided they take their exam after their birthday.

The news comes after it was revealed that students can now search for driving instructors, attend theoretical lectures and book driving test appointments online via the national portal bahrain.bh.

The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has moved a number of services online in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
