Bahrain's National Space Science Agency launches competition

If your kids spend most of their time (metaphorically) among the stars, we have the competition for you.

Bahrain’s National Space Science Agency has launched a Design Your Mars Colony competition for kids aged seven to 12.

Kids will have to design a colony that will sustain 100 people on the red planet. The humans must have access to food, water, and aid, provide shelter to extreme temperatures, and have an energy source.

To take part, you’ll need to submit a sketch of your idea, plus photos and videos explaining what you have created.

Full details of the competition can be found on the NSSA website here, and you have until September 6 to submit your work.

The top three winners will receive e-certificates, space trophies and hands-on STEAM kits.
