Parents oppose fees

Indian School parents object to “migration” charge…

Angry parents are protesting a BD50-100 extra charge to move their children to the senior section of the Indian School in Bahrain.

The school has brought in a "migration" charge for pupils who join from other schools, amounting to BD50 in grades two to four and BD100 in grades five to eight. It comes on top of the BD150 fee, which already exists for students joining the school in grades nine to 12.

The school executive committee, headed by chairman Dr Venkatachalam Jonnadula, has also decided to charge BD1 as an annual youth festival and library charge.
